Great Weekend Ends In Dissapointment Trevor Edwards entered the ace race with high hopes of running well with two new sponsors on the car Solo Manufacturing Company and the well known Clarences Steakhouse. The team was pleased to have them on the car along with the primary sponsor Steele Rubber Products, Edwards had this to say about having the new sponsor on board the 32 modified for the Steele Rubber night at the races "I’m honored to have such sponsors like Steele Rubber Products on the car along with having a southeast legend like Clarences Steakhouse aboard and to build a relationship with Solo Manufacturing". The day for the 32 modifed started great with practice being top-5 all day long, the teams only problem was fighting a loose condition all day through the center of the corner but by the time qualifying rolled around the team was on top of it. Edwards qualified fourth despite fighting a tight condition in the center of the turns now but they knew there car would be great later that day for the 50 lap feature. Before the race Trevor and the team went out to the stands to meet and sign autographs for the fans to show there appreciation and throw out Steele Rubber shirts and other products. While throwing out the products Trevor Edwards commented "Its always fun to get out here and meet the fans that show a lot of appreciation to you and keep your sport alive so signing autographs and handing out products is just a small token of our appreciation". When the green flag fell above the Rolling Thunder Modifieds Edwards was ready by moving up to third and hanging with the top two, for the first part of the race Edwards was on cruise control saving tires and brakes for a run for the win at the end but the plan turned sour with twenty laps to go when the car began to overheat and pushed water onto the rear tires causing the Steele Rubber, Clarences steakhouse and Solo company modified to spin in turns 3 and 4. the whole crew was disappointed after the race as they knew another win had been taken from them because of a mechanical failure "The car was the best it was all year it felt like i was just driving on cruise control and never felt like i was burning up my stuff so i could have as much as i could for the end of the race" is what Edwards said after he climbed from his machine after the night ended early for him. The night wasnt the best it could of been but the day after the race the team had the car back in the shop located in Denver, North Carolina on jack stands and found the problem, the engine had a cracked cylinder causing the car to overheat and ruin the night for the team. The B.E.A.R team wasn’t done though as they replaced there primary motor with their backup motor in preparation for the season finale Saturday September 2nd at Langley Speedway. Along with changing motors this week the car will change paint schemes from a black and yellow modifed to a black and pink modified for the month of October to help raise cancer awareness. The team will be taking names to be put on the car for loved ones who lost the battle with cancer or cancer survivors to honor those that have dealt with cancer. This is what Edwards had to say about the new scheme "I want to thank Steele Rubber Products for letting us do this and them providing the wrap it means allot to me since I have had a lot of close family members and friends that have had to deal with cancer and this is just a little something we can do to honor them in a way not a lot of people can do and that's what makes it so special to me".
Edwards Captures Top-five After A Tough Night The team came into the august 28th South Boston race with high expectations after finishing 3rd earlier in the year. After practice and qualifying the team was still excited and after qualifying they were 3rd fastest only .082 off the pole time set by Joe Scarborough the last South Boston races winner and Rolling Thunder Modified Series points leader Edwards said after qualifying “the car was a little tight in the center because of stagger but we didn’t run bad just needed that little extra to be on pole but it’s okay were going to be great in the race I think”. When race time came around the track had a 150 lap super late model race and two 75 lap late model races on it so the track was going to throw a curveball at the team but the team hit it right. When the Rolling Thunder Modified race took the green flag the team was on cruise control in 4th place till the race relaxed and had a relaxed pace and that when Edwards made his move after running down 3rd place Chris Hoyleman from a ½ straightaway back in 5 laps Edwards dove under the 42 car out of turn 2 just to have the door shut on him but that didn’t get him down he knew he had a fast car and going into turn 3 and 4 he made his line higher to be able to cut under the 42 car off the corner and when he did the Hoyleman machine tried shutting the door after the solo company modified was al the to the left rear tire and when they made contact it made both cars spin towards the inside fence causing upper control arm and spindle damage. Edwards brought the car down pit road to have the car attended to by the Steele rubber crew. When the car was fixed he continued back on the track and picked up right where he left off by going from 10th to 5th in a few short laps Edwards had this to say after the race about the whole night “we were really fast and showed that and when we got to the 42 (Hoyleman) car we were clearly faster and he tried shutting the door on me which I let him the first time cause I wasn’t all the way in but the second time I was definitely in and I held my line but our lines just crossed paths and ended up ruining the night for the both of us but the Steele rubber crew worked really hard to get the car repaired as much as possible and it seems like we always have bad luck then we fight threw it and that’s a quality you rarely find and when you find that quality its usually in championship caliper teams and I really think we are on that level as a team” . The night ended with a 5th place finish which locked up 2010 rookie of the year honors in the series with impressive stats also including 1 win (became youngest winner in the rolling thunder modified tour and inaugural winner at Newport speedway and 7 top-5 finishes and the stats will keep piling up in impressive fashion with 4 races left to go on the schedule including the Halloween race at the historic North Wilkesboro speedway.
Edwards Becomes Youngest Winner In Series History July 26th 2010 Trevor Edwards and the team went into Newport with confidence and they showed that they had a reason when Trevor Edwards became the youngest winner in Rolling Thunder Modified history and the inaugural winner at Newport Speedway Saturday night. Edwards qualified 2nd in the Steele Rubber Products modified missing the pole to Bubba Gale by only .026 seconds. After qualifying Edwards climbed from the car with a disappointed look on his face after he felt something in the rear end and he was right, the center link on the rear end had came loose causing the car to lose all of its forward bite. The crew then rushed to fix the rear end of the car for the race. Edwards said after qualifying “the car was great we just needed that little extra to get my first pole of the year but I’m not worried the car can only get better after we fix that” And his statement became true when the green flag dropped as Edwards jumped behind Gale and the two cars set sail on the field and began to cruise and log laps but on lap 15 when Gale had a electrical issue Edwards took charge of the lead and never looked back leading the final 60 laps of the race. The win didn’t come easy though as a late race caution tightened the field back up and allowed Joe Scarborough to make one last run but couldn’t make the pass before the checkered flag fell. After the race Edwards said this about the win “finally we get a win we’ve been knocking on the door and tonight we made a statement but I have to thank Joe (Scarbourough) for racing me clean and not even trying a bump and run that says a lot about him and his driving style”. Edwards and the Steele Rubber modified next race will be in three weeks at Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah, Virginia and hopes to repeat the success from Newport. The team would like to thank Steele Rubber Products, Jeff and Julia Brown, Kevin Eagle and Travis Byrd for all the support and help to make this dream come true.
Ryan Rust Continuing His Efforts In Supporting The Heroes Of Our Country Ryan is not only respected in the racing community for his accomplishments on the track, he also has a strong following off the track. He started his racing career when he was eight years old and on his pursuit to become a professional driver in NASCAR he has taken the time to remember the many men and women of our country throughout the years that work towards our safety so he has the opportunity to pursue his goals At a very young age Ryan founded Adopt A Hero (formerly Adopt A Marine) which is an organization started to help make the lives of men and women in the armed forces, who are currently serving overseas, a little easier. The Adopt a Hero Program is a free service to help people adopt service personnel overseas. This program has received recognition from the United States Armed Service, has received a Marine Corps Medal and the Young American Patriots Award. The program has helped over 200,000 people get connected, adopters and those adopted, almost 75,000 packages and well over 1 million cards, letters and emails have been received. While supporting the soldiers overseas Ryan Rust has become a member of USFDR to give him the opportunity to show his support for the men and women in the fire department and rescue industry and thank them for being among us every day and their training and preparation to keep us safe in times of need. Ryan makes his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut On Friday, July 23rd tune into the SPEED channel 7:30 to see Ryan Rust take the green flag in his very first NASCAR Truck race. He will be running the 5/8 mile track at ORP in Indy, on the weekend of the famous Brick Yard 400. Ryan's goal is to finish the race and qualify for the next level of his development and NASCAR License.
Impressive Showing For Rookie Trevor Edwards at Concord The Rolling Thunder Modified Series rolled into the 1/2 mile of Concord Motorsports Park on May 29th. Edwards was ready and it showed when he qualified 3rd with a lap of 17.331. "After practice, we put a Steele Rubber Products medium compound spring rubber in and it just made a world of difference and I credit that to why we picked up nine tenths from practice to qualifying" Edwards said. The race was moved up due to the chance of rain and it didn't bother Edwards as he backed up his qualifying spot, running behind leaders Joe Scarborough and Cale Gale. When Gale fell out due to a carburetor issue, Edwards pounced on the chance and started to reel in Scarborough lap after lap. The night turned sour when a car several laps down caught Edwards on fresher tires and when Edwards pointed him by he hit Edwards car causing an upper A-arm to be bent and a flat left front tire. Edwards hurried around to get back to pit road and let the B.E.A.R team go to work. Edwards said, "My Grandpa and Kevin Eagle did a great job on getting me back out really fast and still give Scarborough a chance to rally back". Edwards ended the night in the 3rd spot but was shown to be the fastest car on the track even with a bent left front suspension. Joe Scarborough and Trevor Edwards talked after the race and Scarborough said "I was looking out the front window with one eye and in the mirror watching you get closer with the other". "I'm glad to hear that everyone knew we were here this weekend to win and hopefully we can continue this momentum for the rest of the year with races like South Boston, Newport and the famed North Wilkesboro Speedway and hopefully grab a win and challenge for not only the Rookie of the Year but the Championship also." Commented Edwards. Kristen Eagle (Kevin Eagle's daughter part of the B.E.A.R team) is doing a lot better since the last update but she is still not out of the hospital. She had a chest tube put in for her bronchial bleeding on the day of the Concord race and Kevin still stayed to help, so I would like to thank Kevin for that, but please keep Kristen and her family in your prayers.

Edwards’s Iimpressive Rookie Racing Season Continues With Second Straight Top-Five Mooresville, NC (May 12th) - Trevor Edwards continued his successful rookie season on Saturday with his second consecutive top-five finish. With Steele rubber products aboard the #32 for both top 5 finishes in the Rolling Thunder Modified series, here is what Edwards said about his new sponsor "Steele Rubber Products has been on the B.E.A.R (Brown Edwards Associated Racing) car for two weeks now and both weeks we’ve finished in the top-5, I hope is for them to be there this year when we win our 1st race for us to grow our relationship to a full time partnership". Edwards’s sits 4th in the points chase behind some of the veterans of the series. Edwards has turned heads in the series and continues to get compliments about how well he has adapted to these 600 horsepower modifieds so quickly. At the age of 17 he is the youngest driver to finish in the top-5 in the series history. "I'm having a great time and feel honored to race against people like Joe Scarborough, A.J Winstead and Cale Gale, said Edwards."It's like they say if you want to be the best you got to beat the best, and all three are some of the best drivers I've ever seen in these types of modifieds". Orange County Speedway in Rougemont , North Carolina, is also known as the fastest 3/8 mile speedway. It is Trevor Edwards’s favorite track, and after Saturday he still says that after the 4th place finish he posted after qualifying 4th with a lap of 14.914. Edwards’s next race will be May 22nd at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, Virginia this will be the first time he has ever seen the short track and will test his adaptability to not only the car but the track.
